Current Research
DORE continues to be involved in a number of exciting new studies with some of
the top universities in the country. In addition, the DORE Foundation is
collaborating with education authorities, agencies, and organizations around
the world to study learning difficulties.
University College London, Queen Square FMRI Study

This long term PhD study under the direction of Professor Cathy Price examines
the structure and function of the cerebellum associated with reading and
dyslexia. It also investigates how cerebellar performance changes over time in
those completing The DORE Program. The program began in May of 2004 and
includes 45 children.
University Of Sheffield
DORE currently supports several PhD and undergraduate students researching
different aspects of dyslexia and cerebellum function.
Project 1
Assessing dyslexic people through a number of tests of balance, function, and
eye blink reflex responses.
Project 2
This project is a collaborative project with the Academic Radiology Department
at Sheffield School of Medicine. It assesses the structure and function of the
cerebellum in dyslexia.
Project 3
Assessing the use of EEG (electric brain wave patterns) and Brain Evoked
Potentials in dyslexia and AD/HD.
Bristol Young Offenders Study
The DORE Foundation is currently collaborating with the Somerset and Avon police
departments as well as the Probation Services Department of Criminology at
Portsmouth University on this long-term study to:
-
Using The DORE Program to assess and treat 30 young offenders
-
Measuring AD/HD and dyslexic symptoms
-
Measuring re-offending behaviors and subjective changes
